Aldermanic President Bernard S. Deutsch yesterday invited fifty of Greater New York’s orthodox rabbis to serve on a Rabbinical Advisory Committee of Fifty to advise city authorities on the administration and enforcement of the kosher food laws.
Mr. Deutsch will not make public the names on the list until he has been notified whether the nominees will accept the appointments.
The invitations to serve on the committee were contained in the following letter, a copy of which was sent to each of the fifty rabbis:
“I take pleasure in advising you that I have appointed you a member of the Rabbinical Advisory Committee of Fifty. The function of this committee will be to give such advice to the city authorities as they may require in the
