The Israel Government disclosed today it had decided to cancel Israel’s projected participation in New York City’s 1954 World’s Fair.
The decision was prompted by the large expenditures which would be entailed, estimated at about $2,000,000 which, under the new exchange rate, means an outlay of 6,000,000 Israel pounds. The Government decided in principle last year to participate.
