“From figures discovered by the committee, it appears that there are too many students entering this country from Germany who are organizing themselves into groups and are aiding and assisting Nazi sympathy, and are conducting themselves in such a manner that an investigation will have to be made in the schools to check up whether or not they are bona fide students under the Immigration law.
“From present evidence it appears that these students have been very active in colleges or seminaries, or wherever they may be in the United States, which would justify this government determining their status and request their deportation.”
Mr. Dickstein announced that Nazis were discovered in the city of Newark, N. J., concealing blackjacks and other deadly instruments. They illegally entered this country, and constitute a “menace.”
Defying the German government to deny the allegation that it is financing the spread of Nazi propaganda, Mr. Dickstein asserts that the funds solicited from the membership of the Nazi organization are for a “fighting fund.”
“We have no room for foreign propagandists who come to this country and dictate to us our policy or attempt to undermine our form of government.”
