The House Committee Investigating Un-American Activities will begin hearings on the Christian Front within ten days, it was learned today.
Committee Investigator Robert Barker served subpoenas on five Christian Front leaders in Boston today, Committee Secretary Robert Stripling said. In addition, other investigators were probing the Front’s activities in Pawtucket, R.I.; Manchester, N.H., and Troy, N.Y.
Chairman Martin Dies, who has been away from Washington for a week, reportedly directing efforts of his investigators to expose Christian Front machinations, was expected to return to the capital tonight.
