Difficulties arising from the expropriation of Bedouin lands have led American construction circles to abandon their plans to build a large milltary airfield at Tel Malhata in the Negev, it was reported from Beersheba. The Americans will build two smaller airfields, one near Mitzpeh Ramon and the other near Yotveta while the main base at Tel Malhata will be built by Israel. The three airfields are intended to replace the air bases that Israel will give up when its forces complete their withdrawal from Sinai in three years.
