Secretary of State Henry A. Kissinger and Israeli Ambassador Simcha Dinitz discussed Middle East matters for an hour today at the State Department as Kissinger made final preparations for his departure tonight to Moscow for three days of talks with Soviet officials that will include the Arab-Israeli conflict.
Informed sources said that Kissinger and Dinitz exchanged views on the Lebanese civil war and the UN Security Council debate. Dinitz has been in almost daily communication with Kissinger or Undersecretary of State Joseph J. Sisco since the debate got underway a week ago. The two governments are known to have principles in common regarding the Security Council debate. (See Page 3 for Ambassador Daniel Moynihan’s statement today at the Security Council.)
