Premier Yitzhak Rabin and Foreign Minister Yigal Allon have officially asked Ambassador Simcha Dinitz to continue his tenure as Ambassador to Washington for an unlimited period. This was announced here today following rumors that Dinitz would leave office after the inauguration of President elect Jimmy Carter.
The request by Rabin and Allon was seen as an expression of confidence in Dinitz who has served in Washington for more than three years. It did not mean that Dinitz may not be replaced in the course of next year. Both Rabin and Allon praised Dinitz for his work in Washington.
