Bringing to a close the activities of the senior and junior Young Judaean councils and various Young Judaean clubs for the season, members and their leaders celebrated the occasion with a Keren Hanoar banquet, with more than one hundred persons attending. Monty Schineberg is chairman of the Senior Council and Harold Axelrod heads the Junior Council. Morris B. Ullman, former chairman of the Senior Council, presented awards to the winners of the city-wide Young Judaean speaking contest, and various other prizes. The contest was sponsored by the Bureau of Jewish Education and the Young Judaean Councils.
Morton Koskey of the Mevaser Zion club received first prize and Marcia Gevertman, Soroleas club, Melbourne Lent, Aleph Beth club, received second and third prizes respectively. Rose Bloom, Ruth Rosenberg, Irving Jacobs, Sylvia Kaminker, Charles Lacombe and Edith Levine received honorable mention. The Tel Hai club received the art craft contest prize and the Balfour club was awarded the membership prize.
