Israel and Papua New Guinea have established diplomatic relations, the Foreign Ministry announced today. Israel’s Ambassador to Australia, Michael Elizur, will also serve as Ambassador to Papua-New Guinea.
Another diplomatic event was the signing of a 10-year fishing agreement between Israel and South Africa. Israeli trawlers will be allowed to fish within the 200-mile limit declared by South Africa. The two countries will cooperate in scientific research and in fish processing techniques and industries.
