Charles Ress was re-elected president of the American Keren Hayesod at the annual meeting of the directors of the organization held here last night. Herman L. Weisman was elected chairman of the board of directors.
rincipal speaker at the meeting was Leo Herrmann, general secretary of the Keren Hayesod in Jerusalem, who recently arrived in this country, Herrmann pointed out that it is not inconceivable that immigration to Israel would total between 200,000-300,000 in the coming year. He stated that the great majority of the Jews in Hungary, Czechoslovakia, Bulgaria and Rumania are seeking to enter Israel immediately. At the present time, Herrmann declared, Israel is the only country to which they can obtain exit visas.
