The Austrian police have discovered a magazine for the manufacture and storing of explosives, and the Socialist press today charges that the explosives were intended for use against the Jews.
The police are conducting an investigation to establish whether or not the magazine is the property of the Nazi Party. The proprietor is alleged to be Baron Barisoni, a Nazi functionary, who recently organized an attack on the Jewish ghetto in Mattersburg.
Nazi headquarters maintain that they will not be responsible for the individual acts of their members who may be preparing themselves against the Jews in anticipation of the third Reich.
The Socialist press sounds an alarm against the numerous armories and dumping places throughout Austria which belong to the Nazis. The papers assert the explosives are intended for Nazi use against Jews and Socialists in Germany as well as Austria.
