Several hundred unemployed today “captured” the municipality offices here in protest against the decision of the municipal council to dismiss 300 workers from temporary work.
The offices were declared closed by Mayor Levanon, who said that he would be prepared to re-employ the dismissed workers only if the municipality receives a special loan for the purpose. Otherwise, the city has no possibility to maintain special work for unemployed, the Mayor declared.
