A conference of elected representatives from all Jewish displaced persons camps in the American zone in Germany will be held in Munich on January 20 and 21 under the auspices of the Central Committee of Liberated Jews in Bavaria.
The conference will discuss the problem of the Polish Jews and their effect on the local area, the Palestine situation, and other problems of vital interest to the displaced Jews. Delegates to the conference will be chosen on the basis of one per each 500 Jews, of whom there are approximately 40,000 in the American zone. David Ben Gurion, chairman of the executive committee of the Jewish Agency, will attend the meeting.
Dr. Nahum Goldmann, also of the Jewish Agency, has already arrived in Munich, where he reported that a bill is now being drafted for the Greater Hesse district of Germany providing reparations for Jews. This plan would be carried out throughout the entire American occupation zone, he said.
