Disquieting reports about serious fighting between Arabs and Jews in Palestine are published here today in a despatch from Jerusalem to the anti-Zionist “Daily Express.”
The report states that at the Tomb of Simeon the Just, the last member of the Great Assembly, which is held in great reverence by the population of Palestine, a fight broke out between Arabs and Jews, in which several Jews were wounded.
“It was necessary for a strong force of police to intervene in order to prevent further bloodshed,” the report states, “In Zionist quarters, persistent rumors are current that the Arabs are preparing to organize riots against the Jewish population of Palestine in the next few months. The Zionists are organizing a self-defense body,” concludes the report.
