The district Governor of Lvov, who came under fire during the anti-Semitic excesses in Lvov, because of his laxity in putting down the disturbances, resigned his office today.

No reason was given for the resignation, but it is not believed to have any connection with the anti-Jewish events of last fall. It is understood to have some connection with the Central Government’s dissatisfaction with his handling of the Ukrainian problem.

Immediately after the riots, Jewish deputies and Jewish leaders demanded his dismissal, declaring that he was responsible for the serious form which the disturbances assumed.
