Dp Commission Chairman Criticizes Immigration Act in Testimony Before Senate Committee

Ugo Carusi, Displaced Persons Commission chairman, testifying before the Senate Appropriations Committee today, criticized various provisions of the present DP immigration law and asked that it be changed. Among the Provisions he scored were the act’s requirement that 30 percent of the DP’s who enter the U.S. Shall be agriculturalists and shall remain in farm work, ant that 40 percent of all immigrants be of Baltic origin.
