Dr. A.A. Berg, one of the nation’s leading surgeons, last night was chosen as president-elect of the International College of Surgeons at its annual meeting in the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel. Dr. Berg will take office in 1945. At the closing session of the meeting, the surgeons heard a paper by Dr. Felix Mandl of the Hadassah Hospital in Jerusalem on the use of certain extracts from animal tissues in healing wounds and sores of long duration.
