The higher state court today reversed its decision last week to postpone the trial of Dr. Philip Auerbach, former head of the Bavarian State Restitution Office, on fraud charges, and announced the trial would open as scheduled on April 2.
A medical expert has been instructed to report to the court whether the state of Dr. Auerbach’s health permits his continued detention in prison. Owing to his illness last year, he had been transferred from prison to a hospital.
