Dr. Pinkhos Churgin, retiring president of the Mizrachi Organization of America, was last night named president-designate of the projected Orthodox Bar-Ilan University in Israel. He was named by the newly-created board of trustees of the University who were appointed at the close of the Mizrachi national convention here Saturday evening.
Dr. Churgin announced that the cornerstone laying ceremonies of the first building of the University would be held next April 20, the fifth anniversary of Israel’s independence. The University will rise on a site near Tel Aviv.
