funeral services were held here yesterday for Dr. George J. Gordon, 69, for many years a leader in Jewish educational and communal activities in this city. Dr. Gordon, who forsook the practice of medicine in 1928 to devote his time to the local Talmud Torah, which he helped to found, died on Monday. He was born in Lithuania and came to the United States in 1893 at the age of 19. In 1900 he received his medical degree and came to Minneapolis to practice. He leaves his wife, three daughters and a son, Rabbi Theodore Gordon, director of B’nai B’rith Hillel Foundation at the University of Wisconsin.
