Dr. Nahum Goldmann, president of the Jewish Agency, was honored today by the Buenos Aires Jewish Community with which 45, 000 Jewish families in this city are affiliated. Dr. Abraham Mibashan, president of the community, welcomed the guest.
Dr. Goldmann praised the organization for the manner in which it held the community together and rallied the support of Buenos Aires Jews in behalf of Israel. As president of the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany, Dr. Goldmann promised the help of the community in developing educational programs for the Argentine Jews. He was particularly laudatory of the manner in which party differences were forgotten in the functioning of the community organization.
(The World Jewish Congress in New York was informed today by its Montevideo representative that Dr. Nahum Goldmann’s visit to Uruguay beginning this Friday, has been declared an official one by the Uruguayan Government. Dr. Goldmann is proceeding to Uruguay from Argentina.)
