The finding of a solution to the problem of the structure of relations between Israel and world Jewry is most difficult for this generation, but every temporary measure must be taken to strengthen both sections of the Jewish people–in Israel and abroad–Dr. Nahum Goldmann, chairman of the World Jewish Congress, declared at a symposium here arranged by the Israel section of the World Jewish Congress.

Addressing the audience, which included members of the Cabinet, Parliament and leading Zionist figures, Dr. Goldmann warned of the possibility of an eventual split among the various parts of the Jewish nation, and said this must be prevented. While political and economic dangers threaten Israel they serve as bonds between Israel and world Jewry, he noted, but in the years to come, when Israel is safe, some sort of separation process will set in, he said.

Speaking of the world political atmosphere, Dr. Goldmann said that the Israeli Foreign Ministry must consider world Jewry in every facet of its foreign policy.
