Dr. I. T. Griebl, former president of the League of Friends of New Germany and the most consistent witness to appear before the federal grand jury in connection with that body’s investigation of Nazi activities, has resigned from the New York City’s Hospitals.
The announceemnt came yesterday. Until last week, when Dr. Griebl’s resignation was tendered and immediately accepted, he had been a clinical assistant in the Harlem Hospital.
No reason was given for the resignation of Dr. Griebl, by the superintendent of the Harlem Hospital, who announced the severance of connections with him, but it is known that protest has been made before the Superintendent of Hospitals, James H. Fey, regarding Dr. Griebl’s participation in the activities of the League of Friends of New Germany, whose policies have been asserted repeatedly as being pro-Hitler and anti-Semitic.
