Dr. H. St. John Thackeray of Oxford University, who will be the Hilda Stich Stroock Lecturer at the Jewish Institute of Religion, is expected to arrive shortly. The subject of the series of lectures will be “Josephus, the Man and the Historian.” The titles of the lectures are: “Life, Character and General Estimate of the Historian’s Writings”: “The Jewish War”: “The Jewish Antiquities”: “Josephus and Hellenism”: “Josephns and Hebraism”: “Josephns and Christianity.”
The lectures, which will be open to the public, will be held at the Jewish Institute of Religion.
