Dr. Otto Hirsch, president of the executive of the Reichsvertretung, was today still being held by the Gestapo in the Columbia House, the secret police “torture chamber.”
Dr. Hirsch was arrested on Wednesday in connection with a Yom Kippur message sent out by the Reichsvertretung, supreme German-Jewish representative body.
All efforts to establish contact with Dr. Hirsch have thus far failed. No charges have been laid against him by the Gestapo and the latter has refused all information as to his case.
