Dr. Leopold Plaschkes, Austrian Zionist leader and one-time-vice-president of the Vienna Jewish Community Council, died here today at the age of fifty-eight. Dr. Plaschkes remained in Vienna for some time after the Nazis seized Austria and facilitated the emigration to Palestine of many Austrian Jews. He was for many years the Jewish national representative in the Vienna Diet.
