Dr. Lise Meitner, Austrian-Jewish physicist, has arrived in Washington to assume a professorship at Catholic University beginning Feb. 6. Named as “the woman of the year” by the Women’s National Press Club here. Dr. Meitner will attend the club’s dinner on Feb. 9 in honor of President and Mrs. Truman. She is credited with the initial research which paved the way for the atom bomb.
