Dr. Louis Slotin, Jewish scientist who died last week from the effects of radiation burns suffered as the result of an accident at Los Alamos, New Mexico, where he was engaged in atomic research, was buried here today. He was 35 years old.
When the accident occurred Dr. Slotin thrust himself between the exploding atomic material and seven of his co-workers. All suffered from burns, but Dr. Slotin’s quick action saved the lives of the other men. Dr. Slotin took an active part in all the experimental work in the New Mexico desert and was to have participated in the Bikini Atoll experiment.
