The trial of Dr. Marx, head of the Frankfurt branch of the Central Union of German Citizens of the Jewish Faith, and Herr Muehrdel, former head of the political police, it was officially announced today, will open October 3.
The two men were arrested immediately after the Nazis came to power. Dr. Marx is accused of bribing Herr Muehrdel to supply him with information concerning Nazi activities, and the former police official is charged with supplying Dr. Marx with information and documents obtained in his official capacity. The former president of the Frankfurt police, who was also arrested in the same case, was released after a short while, but Dr. Marx and Herr Muehrdel were held in prison.
