Dr. Max Bay Re-elected President of Los Angeles Federation-council

Dr. Max Wm. Bay was unanimously re-elected to a one-year term as president of Jewish Federation-Council, the Jewish community’s prime organization which sponsors the annual United Jewish Welfare Fund campaign and is comprised of 29 citywide social welfare service agencies and 492 affiliated member groups with a combined membership in excess of 90,000.

Unanimously re-elected as vice-presidents were Victor M. Carter, Mrs. Leo Hirsh, Lawrence E. Irell and Joseph N. Mitchell, who are joined by William W. Bruck. Other officers re-elected were Aaron Riche secretary; Mrs. Maurice Saeta, treasurer; Bram Goldsmith, assistant secretary; and Walter L. Keen, assistant treasurer. Dr. Bay served as general chairman of the 1959 Welfare Fund campaign. He is a national vice-president of the American Jewish Committee and a former president of the American College of Surgeons, Southern California chapter.
