Dr. Michael Ringel, former Polish Senator, lawyer, publisher and Zionist leader, died in Lwow of heart disease shortly after the Soviet occupation, it was reported today by immigrants arriving in Palestine. He was 59 years old.
Dr. Ringel served between 1908 and 1918 as vice-president of the Galician Zionist Organization. In 1919 he was a member of the Jewish delegation to the Paris Peace Conference. He was elected in 1922 to the Polish Senate and held the seat until 1928, serving as chairman of the Senate Legislative Committee.
Dr. Ringel was the author of “The Poles and Zionism,” “Anti-Semitism in Poland” and “The Jewish Question in Poland.” He was publisher of the Tageszeitung, a Zionist organ.
