Dr. Milton Aron, rabbi and communal leader, was elected national director of the Jewish National Fund of America, it was announced here today. He comes to his new post after serving as spiritual leader of the Shaarey Zedek Congregation of Winnipeg, Canada, for the past 18 years, and president of the Jewish National Fund of Canada for the last three years.
Born in Trenton, N.J. in 1917, Dr. Aron is a member of a family with 14 generations of Vilna rabbis in its genealogy. He obtained his B.A. degree from the University of Chicago in 1935, and was ordained as rabbi at Hebrew Theological College, Chicago, an Orthodox college, in 1940. Later in 1950, he obtained his Doctor of Divinity degree from the University of Indiana.
