Dr. Mordecai Katz, well known Jewish author and journalist, died here suddenly at the home of Dr. A. Mukdoni, noted Jewish critic, while attending a birthday party given for the latter.
Born in Lithuania 69 years ago. Dr. Katz came to the United States before World War I and obtained his Ph.D. from Columbia University in 1925. He was for many years a member of the editorial staff of the Jewish Daily News and when this newspaper closed, he became the editor of the Jewish Courier, a dally newspaper in Chicago, which ceased publication several years ago. Later, he joined the Jewish Morning Journal in New York.
