Dr. Morton J. Robbins, an honorary president of the Zionist Organization of America who practiced medicine in Nashua, N.H., died in Tel Aviv at the age of 70, it was reported here today. Dr. Robbins had attended the 27th World Zionist Congress.
He was born in the Ukraine, came to the United States in 1922 and studied pharmacy at Rutgers University. He earned his medical degree at the University of Liege, Belgium, in 1927 and was awarded an honorary doctorate of letters by the International Academy of New York and London in 1953.
Dr. Robbins, who retired from practice in 1964, had been vice chairman of the ZOA’s national executive council and national chairman of its youth commission and of the American Zionist Fund. He was a member of the Zionist Actions Committee.
He also had been a member of the national council of the United Israel Appeal and a governor of the Jewish National Fund. He was a founder of the American Physicians Fellowship of the Israel Medical Association.
