Dr. Nahum Goldmann, chairman of the executive committee of the World Jewish Congress, has provisionally assumed the presidency of that organization in succession to the late Dr. Stephen S, Wise, it was announced today. Dr. Goldmann will hold office until new elections can be arranged.
Representatives of 41 nations will attend a celebration at the Palais de Chaillot here on May 4 marking the first anniversary of Israel. The meeting will be held under the auspices of the French Zionist Federation, Aid to Israel Central committee and France-Israel Friendship Committee.
