The appointment of Dr. Emanuel Rackman as assistant to the president of Yeshiva University was announced here today.
Dr. Rackman, former president of the Rabbinical Council of America and the New York Board of Rabbis, will be in charge of the university’s rabbinic studies as offered in its Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary, and will oversee its placement and service arm, the Community Service Division. He will also continue as associate professor of political science, a post he has held at Yeshiva since 1947. Dr. Rackman will relieve Dr. Samuel Belkin, president of the university, of his administrative responsibility as dean of the Seminary.
