The Israel Foreign Ministry announced officially today the appointment of Dr. Eytan Rupin as Israel’s first Ambassador to the Republic of Malagasy, the former French colony of Madagascar. Dr. Rupin is en route to that country, accompanied by Dr. Joseph Burg, Minister of Welfare, to represent Israel at the new African nation’s independence celebrations.
