Dr. Albert Sabin, famed virologist and discoverer of the oral polio vaccine, arrived here this weekend for an 11-day visit as the guest of the Jewish-Argentine Institute for Culture and Information.
Dr. Sabin, Distinguished Research Professor of Research Pediatrics at the Cincinnati University College of Medicine, came here from Sao Paulo where he received the State of Sao Paulo Award for Meritorious Service. He was the guest in Sao Paulo of the Brazilian-Jewish Cultural Institute.
The Argentine Government and the Municipality of Buenos Aires both issued proclamations declaring Dr. Sabin to be an honored guest of the nation and city.
During his visits to Brazil and Argentina, Dr. Sabin is lecturing at universities and other scientific and medical institutions and meetings with government officials and Jewish groups. A series of receptions for him and Mrs. Sabin has been arranged here by the Institute.
