Dr. Samuel Krauss, noted Jewish scholar, historian and philologist, who came to England from Austria in 1938 after the German-Austrian anschluss, died at his home in Cambridge today at the age of 82. Born in Hungary, Dr. Krauss served as head of the Israelite Theological Seminary in Vienna and was the author of numerous scholarly works, including the Talmudic Anthology, published in 1912. He was the recipient of an honorary doctorate conferred upon him by the Hebrew Union College, in Cincinnati.
