Hundreds of leaders in the field of Jewish education attended the funeral today of Dr. Samuel M. Blumenfield who died yesterday at the age of 70. Dr. Blumenfield was the director of the Department of Education and Culture of the American Section of the World Zionist Organization for over a decade, and before that was dean and president of the College of Jewish Studies, Chicago. He also lectured at the New School of Social Research and taught Judaic culture at Hofstra University. Dr. Blumenfield was a graduate of City College and studied for the rabbinate at the Jewish Institute of Religion where he received a master’s degree in 1930.
