Dr. Bela Schick, noted pediatrician and discoverer of the test for susceptibility to diphtheria which bears his name, was honored here tonight on the occasion of his 80th birthday. The dinner was tendered by the Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University.
For the past two years, Hungarian-born Dr. Schick who is credited with being a cofounder of the science of allergy, has served on the staff of the Albert Einstein College as Visiting Professor of Pediatrics. The dinner followed ceremonies earlier today at which the Bela Schick Department of Pediatrics was dedicated at the medical school.
