Over three hundred prominent men and women, Jewish and non-Jewish, will attend the dinner this evening, at seven o’clock, at the Hotel Commodore in honor of Dr. Sherwood Eddy, author and sociologist, tendered in tribute to Dr. Eddy’s courageous condemnation of the persecution of the Jews in Germany uttered in the course of a speech he delivered in Berlin.
Dr. Eddy, R. D. Blumenfeld, famous British newspaper editor, who arrives here today on the liner Olympic, Justice Joseph M. Proskauer, Kirby Page, editor of World Tomorrow, and B. C. Vladeck, will speak at the dinner which is sponsored by the Jewish Daily Bulletin.
The Rev. Dr. Harry Emerson Fosdick, Judge Irving Lehman and Dr. Mary Woolley, of Mt. Holyoke College, are honorary chairmen of the dinner committee. Paul Block, Dr. Emanuel Libman, James Marshall, Justice Joseph M. Proskauer, Dr. Nathan Ratnoff, James N. Rosenberg, Morris Rothenberg and Roger W. Straus are honorary vice-chairmen. Frank L. Weil is chairman of the committee.
