Dr. Sigmund Muenz, dean of Austrian writers and essayists, died here while attending an international conference of journalists. He was 75 years old.
Dr. Muenz had been one of the closest friends of Theodor Herzl, founder of the modern Zionist movement, and had taken a prominent part, with Thomas Masaryk, now president of Czechoslovakia, in the blood libel trial of Leopold Hilsner at Polna, Bohemia, in 1899.
Dr. Muenz was the author of several books on international politics and contemporary trends, and of many articles and essays on outstanding political figures.
