Dr. Slawson Elected Executive Member of U.S. Body for UNESCO

Dr. John Slawson, executive vice-president of the American Jewish Committee, has been elected a member of the executive committee of the U. S. National Commission for United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization. The executive committee consists of 19 individuals selected from the commission, composed of 100 members representing voluntary organizations, governmental units and citizens-at-large.

UNESCO, a specialized agency of the United Nations, has as its objectives the lifting of the standards of education through out the promotion of peace by sharing educational, scientific and cultural products with all countries, The. American Jewish Committee has worked closely with UNESCO since the international organization’s formation nine years ago.
