Dr. Stephen S. Wise, Chairman of the United Palestine Appeal, will be the principal speaker at the banquet launching a campaign in Newark on May 20th. The campaign which has a quota of $600,000 embraces the United Palestine Appeal, United Jewish Campaign and the Newark Conference of Jewish Charities.
In accordance with an agreement reached among the interested organizations, the United Palestine Appeal is to receive $100,000, the United Jewish Campaign will receive $300,000, which will be paid in two years, and the remainder will go for local charties.
“The opening banquet will be held in the Young Men’s Hebrew Association Building. The agreement of the joint campaign was reached between Aaron Levinstone, chairman of the United Palestine Appeal in Newark and Morris Scheck, chairman of the United Jewish Campaign. Meyer Kussy is the Campaign Treasurer.
