Jewish sources in the Soviet Union reported that hooligans attacked the house of Dr. Mikhail Stern in Vinnitsa, last Thursday. By today, the police had not found the culprits. The impression of local people was that the police were not going out of their way to do so. Viktor Stern, Dr. Stern’s elder son, said that he was permitted to see his father who told him. “In the conditions that I am being kept I do not expect to survive for more than three or four months.”
