Honorary degrees will be awarded at Yeshiva University commencement exercises June 12 to Dr. Zerah Warhaftig, Israel’s Minister of Religious Affairs; Dr. Solomon Gaon, Chief Rabbi of Sephardic congregations of Britain; and poet Uri Zvi Greenberg.
The minister and poet will receive Doctor of Hebrew Letters degrees, and Dr. Gaon, a Doctor of Divinity degree. A Doctor of Humane Letters degree will be given to Dr. William F. Albright, famous Orientalist. Seven other leaders in the arts, sciences, education and public life will be similarly honored. Arthur J. Goldberg, former American Jewish Committee president, will give the graduating address.
