Samuel Bronfman, Canadian Jewish leader, today announced the appointment of Dr. Moses Cyrus Weiler, of Haifa, as chairman of the administrative committee of “Beth Hatfutzot” (House of Jewish Communities), a project soon to be built in Israel.
Mr. Bronfman was appointed to the chairmanship of this project at the last conference of the World Jewish Congress in Stockholm. “Beth Hatfutzot” will be an institute for the development of studies of Jewish communities the world over. Seminars, conferences, assemblies and lectures will be conducted at the institute on the role of Jewish communities throughout the world.
Dr. Weiler moved to Israel three years ago from South Africa where he was the founder of the “Movement for Progressive Judaism.” Later this month he will leave for South Africa and Europe to interest Jewry there in the “Beth Hatfutzot” project.
