Dr. Stephen S. Wise, honorary president of the American Jewish Congress, will be guest of honor and principal speaker in Philadelphia Sunday evening at a mass meeting to be held at the Arch Street Theatre under the auspices of the Jewish National Workers Alliance.
The Sunday meeting is the first Jewish mass meeting in Philadelphia to be addressed by Dr. Wise since the rise of Hitlerism. Dr. Wise will discuss the Nazi menace, with particular emphasis on its rise in this country and the effects it has produced upon the lives and status of the Jews of the United States.
The meeting, it is anticipated, will launch in Philadelphia a movement for organization and participation in nation-wide democratic elections to be held this fall for the purpose of creating an enlarged and thoroughly representative American Jewish Congress.
Other speakers will include Louis Segal, of New York, executive secretary of the Jewish National Workers Alliance, and Chaim Greenberg, editor and publicist.
