Dr. Yuri Tarnopolsky of Kharkov was sentenced Thursday to three years’ imprisonment for “anti-Soviet slander,” the Student Struggle for Soviet Jewry (SSSJ) reported here. The 46-year-old chemist was arrested in March. He staged a 40 day hunger strike last fall for an exit visa to Israel.
